The sports-savvy minds at Sports Illustrated created a daily fantasy destination for fans everywhere. FanNation is the newest platform to come from the Time Inc. brand and will allow fans the opportunity to play daily games dedicated to the four major U.S. sports via mobile and web.
The introduction of the application came just weeks after the redesign of the Sports Illustrated website and the roll-out of 120 Sports, the live-streaming digital video network. FanNation aims to capture individuals involved in fantasy sports, a population of more than 41 million.
Specifically, the launch of FanNation brings us Baseball Throwdown. It allows fans to create their own baseball roster (of three players) and then challenge friends to see which team will perform best for the day. And if things don’t go your way, simply set another roster for the next day! Baseball season is just reaching its peak which could mean great things for the app. And if baseball isn’t your sport? Don’t worry – hockey, football, and basketball are coming up next!
