welcome, roger!

Roger NealSynapse Group, Inc. is proud to welcome Roger Neal on board as our new VP of Business Development.

Roger comes to us with a background focused in media. Most recently, Roger led his own consultancy company, driving revenue and user growth for clients through partnerships, product innovation, and mobile-first strategy development. Before that, he spent his time as the SVP Strategy, Business Development and Sales at Gazelle, the leading smartphone reCommerce marketplace.

We got a chance to catch up with Roger during his first week – in between meetings, a fire drill, and the bustle of a typical first-week-on-the-job.

Synapse: So, Roger, what drew you to Synapse?

Roger: I’m a fan of subscription models for print and digital products (as opposed to advertising-driven models). Amazon Prime, Netflix, NBA League Pass, and Spotify are great examples of models that benefit both the consumer and the service provider. There exists a big opportunity with subscription models and I’m excited to bring Synapse’s marketing, operations, and technology expertise to these kinds of products.

Synapse: In your first week here, what’s been the most exciting thing?

Roger: Seeing a high-performing team in action is a great thing.

Synapse: What’s something else that excites you?

Roger: The Golden State Warriors – also a high-performing team.

Synapse: And, since we are the largest marketer of magazine subscriptions, please tell us your favorite magazine.

Roger: I think Monocle is an interesting magazine. That being said, I’ve also been enjoying podcasts in the car lately. I got hooked on “Serial” and now I subscribe to “All Songs Considered,” “This American Life,” and “The Starters.”

Sebastien Bilodeau, Synapse CEO, had the following to say about Roger joining the team:
“We are very excited about having Roger join Synapse and look forward to his contribution and future success.”

We certainly agree.
