giving them 20

Thank them. Salute them. #GiveThem20

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

-Uncle Ben from the movie Spiderman

Time Inc. is responsible. Socially responsible, that is. (I know you were probably wondering where we were going with that quote…)

Henry Luce, founder of Time Inc., once said, “We should not just act in the interests of shareholders but also in the interest of the public.” An organization of nearly 8,000, Time Inc. does its job giving back to the community. From partnerships to volunteerism to environmental sustainability, the organization finds various ways to contribute to the betterment of society.

Most recently, Time Inc. and Synapse have partnered with American Corporate Partners (ACP) – a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect US veterans to business leaders through mentorships and online career advice. Time Inc. reached out to its database of employees, soliciting mentors to pair with veterans. These relationships will serve as the base for long-term career development, strengthening the connection between corporate America and US veterans.

To show its support to the veterans, Time Inc. employees dropped and gave them 20. Literally. The campaign #GiveThem20 asks fans to salute our veterans by dedicating 20 push-ups, sit-ups, etc. to veterans. Then, they’re asked to challenge friends & family to do the same – publicizing their support! Time Inc. did not disappoint. See the video here!

At Synapse, social responsibility comes in many forms (luckily not based on push-ups!), and we’re excited to be a part of this one!
